North Central Phoenix teen Grace Gilberg was selected to participate in a prestigious summer internship with TGen, the Translational Genomics Research Institute. As a member of the 2015 Helios Scholars program, TGen’s flagship summer program in biomedical research, Grace will work directly with TGen scientists in the Division of Cancer and Cell Biology.
Gilberg, a graduating senior at Phoenix Country Day School, was one of 45 students selected from a highly competitive applicant pool of over 600 high school, undergraduate, and graduate/medical school students applying for the Helios Scholars Program.
This will be Gilberg’s second paid internship at TGen. Last summer, she was chosen to work at TGen under the Ben and Catherine Ivy Neurological Science Internship Program studying the brain, with particular emphasis on genetically based malignant brain tumors.
Gilberg graduated with the Phoenix Country Day School Class of 2015 on June 4, and will attend Wellesley College in Massachusetts this fall.
